Dayboro Dingoes 2 vs Albany Creek 0
A Wednesday night catch up game held at Albany Creek, what a game due to the fact that most of our kids are usually in bed before the game finished. A great excuse for a lot of take-away dinners.
First half saw Tyler in goal, front row was Reece, Claire and Sos work well fantastically in the forwards and beginning to demonstrate predictability in their team-mates. Anticipation showed the skill that is now being reflected in their games. Fifteen minutes into the first half we saw our first goal by Sos, Our centres and defenders worked really well together. Stevie-Lee, Micah Sticks and Danielle worked really well in defence throughout the game. The end of the first half saw Dayboro up 1-0. Anticipation flowed. They ready for a win. So close for a few weeks, saw Dayboro hungry, nothing was going to take this one off them.
Second half saw Sos as goalie. Again we defended well and it wasn't long before the leg work of Max, Jacinta and Reece paid off. Reece was able to score, yahooooooooooooo we were up 2-0. The team played fantastically as a team, and Paul's hard work is paying off. Visual sight of skill level improvement particularly from those players who attended the soccer camp held by Chelsea F.C. over the holidays. What a great time they had. You can never get too much soccer - just ask any of them. Huge amount of encouragement from the sideline helped to carry Dayboro through to victory. Well done team.

President's Report - 11 July 2009
Hello everyone and welcome back after the recent break from soccer and hope everyone is feeling refreshed.
Soccer Camp
The soccer camp that was held in Dayboro during the holidays went well with positive feedback from the kids and parents. I hope all those that participated totally enjoyed themselves and learned valuable skills and knowledge to use at game level.
Oval Usage
Some issues have been pointed out to me in reference to families taking their pet dogs onto the playing field. I have been advised by council that whilst games are been played no dogs are permitted on the playing field.
Gravel at Gate Entry
I do hope everyone finds the new gravel entry area a little more user-friendly. We will endeavour to better the setup in the new future.
Signs, Posts and Speed Limits
Communication with council has been completed with agreement to implement speed and safety signs that will be installed as per council time frames.

Chelsea Development Camp, 6 - 10 July 2009

In the second week of the school holidays, from the 6 to 10 July, fifteen players from Dayboro participated in a 5 day Chelsea Development Camp at our very own Colin Thiele Park. The squad trained for 3 hours each day under Coach Kevin, who is a qualified coach from the UK. Kevin is in Australia for a couple of months (in the English off-season) with a group of coaches from Chelsea conducting courses around Queensland organised by Football Coaching International.
The boys and girls were thoroughly entertained for the week with a mixture of drills, technique development and small sided games. The squad represented their club excellently and their behaviour, enthusiasm and skill was praised by their coach. Congratulations to all those players.
If you read the U10, 11 and 12 match reports below you will see how each player from the camp has made valuable contributions to their team's performances since the camp.
At the end of the week each player was presented with a Chelsea FC Certificate and Medal and Kevin was presented with a Dayboro Dingoes club shirt to show off to all his mates back in the UK.
Some might see this as an opportunity of a life time, but with any luck the camp is likely to return next year!

Dayboro U6 v Samford's Chelsea.
After returning back to the Soccer fields after a well deserved 2 week break, Dayboro turned on the Sunshine and the day was a corker! The under 6 team, full of energy so early in the morning, took on the Samford team Chelsea.
With 4 players aside and 2 subs, the team was focused and eager to score… With a belly stop by Kaitlin Matthews, nifty little tricks by Rusty Russian, Indigo Patterson giving it her best, 2 outstanding goals by Jack Bracher, and our usual hero’s Jordon Salmon & Ryan Linney scoring another couple to keep us ahead of the enemy…. You could say the team was on FIRE!

U 7 Match Report - 18 July 2009
Dayboro U7 v Samford's Spurs Yellow.
What an exciting match this was! We met this team earlier in the season and they were a formidable opponent at that encounter. Today's match challenged the skill, fitness and optimism of the U7s - and they proved themselves courageous and motivated.
The first few minutes were fast paced, with at least 5 journeys up and down the field. It was not long before Samford scored their first goal. Catie was attacking early and got close to a shot at goal. Kain was in great form defending the Dayboro goal. Sam was also active and dribbled the ball the length of the field several times, with some near misses at goal shots. The Dayboro players are becoming very practiced in coming off and going on the field to relieve other players.
Several more Samford goals followed, with Dayboro never giving up or failing to give less than 100% effort. Luke was quickly dodging Samford players with great skill, only to be knocked to the ground- but he was quickly up and back in the game. Blake sent some passing shots to other players, and showed his skills in defence. Just prior to half time, the Dayboro players united to form a wall of defence. This proved impenetrable despite Samford's practiced set plays.
At half time players were overheard trying to convince the coach not to take them off. They were all keen to be in the action. Alison's oranges must have had something in them, because after half time the team were unstoppable! Hamish made a run dribbling the ball the entire length of the field, dodging at least 3 opposition players. His shot at goal was so close. Cameron was on the prowl, looking for loose balls and defending well. The ball was in the Dayboro half and a goal seemed inevitable. Suddenly Luke scored and the supporters errupted in cheers! Then the floodgates opened and Jayde followed up with 3 of his own. All agreed this was a great match for the players and those watching.
Every player gave their best efforts, and showed how skills are developing.
Player of the match went to Blake, the newest member of the team. Well done Blake.

U 9 Match Report - 18 July 2009

With school holidays and wet weather, it seems an eternity since the under 9’s last had a run. Enthusiasm flowing as usual for this little team and with energy to burn, coach “Pete” took the opportunity to make use of the “big field” for this game. Samford also saw this as a good opportunity put their skills to practice.
Emslie, as this week’s captain led the team out amongst the cheers for supporting parents. From the onset Samford meant business and gave goalie Tim a good work out. Never a team to b e deterred by a quick opposition goal our little team fought back. “Pocket rocket” Conor Owens showed his skills with numerous runs down the field with Dean in hot pursuit. Both provided the audience with some great shots for goal, only missing by “that much”.
Jack the “Handy man” as usual worked tirelessly, not even a injury can keep this guy off the field. Once again our wonderful fill-in’s Sam Elliot and Ruby Morrison-Rose played like stars and are a fantastic asset every time we request their services. Well into her first season ever, Hayley always shows us great potential and skills whatever position she is asked to play.

For covering the most distance on the field and showing no fear against players twice her size, Emslie walked away with the Player Achievement award and quickly converted voucher from the IGA.

On Saturday 18 July Dayboro Dingoes Under 10’s team had a stunning game against Mitchelton Mercury’s team.
First Half:
Good control of the ball and passing by Thomas, Tristan, and Tahra led to Tahra scoring in the first few minutes of the game! Our team kept the ball down field, and Matt quickly scored again with a beautiful kick over all the players’ heads! Controlled passing by Jacob and Tristan led to another goal by Tahra! Thomas kept the pressure up – and Ben did some good long passes downfield in defence. Matt attempted a goal again, and Elliot kept the ball in our possession. Jacob intercepted the ball, passed to Tahra, who scored again! Layton finally had a chance to show his style as goal keeper, and collected an attempt at goal by Mitchelton. Josh collected a pass from Ben and kept the ball to pass to Thomas. Matt and Jacob kept the pressure up with more goal attempts.
Second Half:
Layton saved an attempt at goal by Mitchelton – Hayden and Elliot played well in defence. Tahra showed excellent ball control and skill at intercepting. Elliot kicked the ball downfield, and Thomas showed good control of the ball. Tristan was a little terrier after the ball, till he managed scoring the first goal in the 2nd. half. U11 Match Report - 18 July 2009
Dayboro Dingoes 0 vs Redcliffe 3.
Clear skies, 3-5 knot winds out of the south east. Billy Hohns was our ref and Graham Rose was running the mile up the sideline. Bit of a change of the under 11 dingoes as they had to wear reverse strip this weekend because Redcliffe's colours were almost the same as Dayboros. First half, kickoff, with an early breakaway with Tyler and Claire looked like it was set to score, but was defended will by the Redcliffe goalie. Redcliffe had a run at our line, Sos was in goal and defended well. Another scramble at the our end saw a disallowed goal. Redcliffe got a penalty and they put one in the net over Sos's head, bad luck mate, may be when you grow a bit taller.
We kicked off and made a run towards there goal but were defeated and Redcliffe banged another one in. Again we kicked off and they stole the ball and ran towards the goal, this time Elliott defended well as he did all game and stopped them. Another kick off and a scramble saw Reece and StevieLee with a brilliant run up the left hand side but was defended by Redcliffe.
Second half, number 11 for Redcliffe was our nemesis and we could not get past him. Even with the help of substitute players Tahra Shoots, Jacob Elliott, Elliott Morrison-Rose and Tristan Alexander, we were unable to score a goal, not for the want of trying. Tyler was goalie, took a fantastic save sliding on his knees, then with a mighty goalie drop kick Claire was able to take the ball, run forward and pass it to Reece and Reece had a fantastic attempt at goal but was unlucky to have it saved by their goalie.
Final score was 3-0 to Redcliffe. A great score compared to the first time these two teams met and may be the final score was not a true reflection of the effort and dedication put in by the Dayboro players.

U12 Match Report - 18 July 2009
Dayboro Dingoes 5 vs Grange Thistle 4.
The line was drawn in the sand and the battle set to commence on yet another wonderful winter day. Our last match was a hard fought win to Dayboro by only one goal, and despite being top of the table, Dayboro had a hard task ahead.
Within the first few minutes the expectant onlookers were treated to a fabulous attempt at goal by Jayden who sent the ball rocketing across the goal face to hit the bottom left post. Dayboro maintained the pressure and Alex scored a few minutes later to open the scoring…………..and what a treat we were in for in that regard.
Grange Thistle replied soon after to square things up. This was followed by great attacking play from both teams with equally fierce defense. Franz as usual was doing an exceptional job in goal with staunch support from Jeremy, Travis and India. Finally, a beautiful cross from Oliver was rewarded by Jed finding the net to put Dayboro in the lead again. This was consolidated not long after by another lovely cross from Oliver to Alex who touched the ball in to further extend our lead. Dayboro was on a roll, and nothing was going to stop Jed who made a breakaway off clever passing from Eddie, Jake and Bradley, scoring convincingly to take the score to 4:1. Subsequent play from both teams featured skillful mid field passing resulting in a few inaccurate and some well defended attempts at goal. India showed some fancy footwork in both attack and defense. Great resistance was provided by Travis, Bradley and Jeremy as well as Eddie, who seemed to have found the secret to cloning as he appeared to be everywhere. Despite the strong defense, Grange Thistle was lucky enough to sneak through an accurate shot close to half time, closing play for the first half two goals behind.

This triggered immediate counter pressure by Dayboro with Jayden rocketing another pearler towards the net. Unlucky to find the crossbar, the rebound was swooped upon by Oliver whose attempt unfortunately sailed over the posts. The quick action drew excited cheers and disappointed groans from the anxious Dayboro spectators who sensed that the game was far from over yet. Our team showed some good ball skills and great reading of play, but in all the excitement Grange Thistle managed to dribble one over the line to even up the scores at four all. The pressure was mounting on the field while the excitement and anxiety was mounting on the sidelines. Constant pressure by Dayboro with several unlucky shots at goal with some near misses frustrated both players and spectators alike, heightening the tense atmosphere. As he had all game, Kade made some lovely runs up the side with some accurate passes into the centre which we could just not finish off. FINALLY the deadlock was broken by some deft passing between Jayden, Alex and Eddie resulting in a neat pass to Jed who made no mistakes to get Dayboro over the line a few minutes before the final whistle.
The game certainly ended up the cliff hanger we expected, but the team spirit and perseverance Dayboro showed resulted in a well deserved victory. Player of the Match was awarded to Oliver for excellent passing and crossing which setup the first 3 goals.

U12 Match Report - 11 July 2009
Kenmore Lions 0 vs Dayboro Dingoes 1.
This game for the Dingoes was a fill in game; a game had been cancelled previously and this was a chance to catch up. The Dingoes played away at Kenmore against the Kenmore Lions. When the game started and the Dingoes showed all the signs of a team at the end of the mid year holidays and took time to get into the game. In the first five minutes the game was balanced with most of the game played around the midfield.
Kenmore moved forward and Dayboro had to defend desperately, Jak made a strong tackle to hold up play (a sign of things to come), then Kenmore took a shot at goals. Dayboro’s scrambling defence held with the final back stop of Brad and the ball in his safe hands. The initial push forward from Kenmore was a wakeup for Dayboro and for the next few minutes the Dingoes made some good moves.
The two O’s, Oliver and Olivia produced a series of connecting passes and crosses. Kade gave the game a spark with some fancy footwork that wowed the team supporters. However, this did not put enough pressure on the Kenmore Lions as they stood their ground. The midfield tussle continued with India and Travis playing their usual solid game. Jak also stepped up to a new level this week running hard, a few strong tackles and a new found zest for the game.
With the game in a stalemate, Dayboro supporters were looking for something to give them the edge. Fifteen minutes into the game a couple of passes from Jake and Matt put the ball through to Alex in the Dayboro half. Alex moved through the halfway line and easily passed by a couple of Kenmore players. Alex continued to weave his way through opposition players toward the 18 yard box. A couple of determined steps and Alex had only the goalie to beat. Again, coach Scott’s training would pay off. After beating many opposition players, Alex could have taken the glory shot and fired the ball hard but his cool head and accurate boot placed the ball out of the goalie’s reach. This resulted in Dayboro being a goal up.
With the Dingoes finally ahead, the team settled and began stringing passes together, Oliver showing consistency throughout the season had vision around him. He put good passes through to his teammates as well as individual moves of brilliance. Toward the end of the second half the game balanced again, Kenmore’s pushes forward were countered by the Dayboro defence. Travis played the captain’s lead by putting his body on the line with his trademark rock solid tackles; on one occasion tackling hard then dribbling the ball forward to get the ball away to one of his teammates.

The second half began as the first half did, both teams trying to get the edge, Kenmore moving forward only to be countered by the Dayboro defences. More good work from the defensive triple J’s; Jeremy, Jake and Jed held out Kenmore. The game played mostly in the midfield and allowed the likes of Eddie and Matt to show off their skills. Eddie and Matt both combined in a couple of one-two’s. Alex, Oliver and Olivia brought the ball forward on numerous occasions with good passes between them.
Throughout the second half Dayboro had shots on goal with no reward, even a fancy lob from the edge of the 18 yard box didn’t work, Kenmore’s defence held. An accurate cross from Oliver swept the ball across goal but a golden opportunity missed. Alex also had another shot at goal in the second half but again, no luck. As the game was nearing full time both teams had opportunities. Ed had a strong run down the line. At the other end of the field Travis continued to block Kenmore’s attempts to score. Any shots on goal we easily stopped by Brad. Special thanks to Brad for staying in goal for the whole game in the absence of Franz. When the final whistle blew Dayboro finished the victors. It was not a decisive win but some good points came out of it; Alex came through with the deciding goal, Oliver and Olivia combined well and set up opportunities to score and our defensive unit held strong.
For the week leading up to this game a number of the Dingoes took part in a soccer camp held in Dayboro, The Chelsea Skills Training Camp. For five days, three hours a day, the group went through intensive skills training. By game day the group were about to start their 16th hour of football for the week. As well as improving skills, it was clearly evident that fitness levels were up.
A standout from the camp and for the game was Jak Speirs who played above his usual level of play. Jak had an outstanding game and was rewarded with man of the match.
This game for the Dingoes was a fill in game; a game had been cancelled previously and this was a chance to catch up. The Dingoes played away at Kenmore against the Kenmore Lions. When the game started and the Dingoes showed all the signs of a team at the end of the mid year holidays and took time to get into the game. In the first five minutes the game was balanced with most of the game played around the midfield.
Kenmore moved forward and Dayboro had to defend desperately, Jak made a strong tackle to hold up play (a sign of things to come), then Kenmore took a shot at goals. Dayboro’s scrambling defence held with the final back stop of Brad and the ball in his safe hands. The initial push forward from Kenmore was a wakeup for Dayboro and for the next few minutes the Dingoes made some good moves.
The two O’s, Oliver and Olivia produced a series of connecting passes and crosses. Kade gave the game a spark with some fancy footwork that wowed the team supporters. However, this did not put enough pressure on the Kenmore Lions as they stood their ground. The midfield tussle continued with India and Travis playing their usual solid game. Jak also stepped up to a new level this week running hard, a few strong tackles and a new found zest for the game.
With the game in a stalemate, Dayboro supporters were looking for something to give them the edge. Fifteen minutes into the game a couple of passes from Jake and Matt put the ball through to Alex in the Dayboro half. Alex moved through the halfway line and easily passed by a couple of Kenmore players. Alex continued to weave his way through opposition players toward the 18 yard box. A couple of determined steps and Alex had only the goalie to beat. Again, coach Scott’s training would pay off. After beating many opposition players, Alex could have taken the glory shot and fired the ball hard but his cool head and accurate boot placed the ball out of the goalie’s reach. This resulted in Dayboro being a goal up.
With the Dingoes finally ahead, the team settled and began stringing passes together, Oliver showing consistency throughout the season had vision around him. He put good passes through to his teammates as well as individual moves of brilliance. Toward the end of the second half the game balanced again, Kenmore’s pushes forward were countered by the Dayboro defence. Travis played the captain’s lead by putting his body on the line with his trademark rock solid tackles; on one occasion tackling hard then dribbling the ball forward to get the ball away to one of his teammates.

President's Report 17 June 2009
Hello and welcome.
Hope everyone has had another fantastic week. Following our monthly soccer meeting that was held last week, a few issues/topics have arisen and I have been asked to put them forward in this week’s edition of E off the Post.
Woollies grant successful!
A while back the soccer club applied for a grant through Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Community Grants, and we are pleased to announce that we have been successful. The money will be used to go toward shade shelters. I will have more information as time goes on. A HUGE thanks to the effort put in by Venetia to receive this grant.
Why recycling matters
I'm not an active member of Greenpeace, but recycling can only help the environment. We can all benefit from recycling things from around the house, work, or during our leisure time. Over the next few weeks our soccer committee members are going to organise for all of us to take part in recycling. We will start off by having a bin for our empty cans, which will be located at the canteen. This is a fantastic opportunity for our kids to see, be participants, and that as a club we are doing our bit for the environment.
Performance of young referees
Positive feedback has been a hot topic this week among the parents regarding our young refs. Juliet has mentioned praise from a Samford U10's mother about Billy Hohns manner with the children, also the performance of Travis Vetier refereeing the U7's was also excellent. Well done boys keep up the great job your doing. All of our young refs are doing a fantastic job and we are all very proud to have them as part of our soccer club.
Safety during matches
Another issue that was mentioned during the meeting was the importance of spectators not cutting corners during games. This is a concern for young children being knocked down by players, as well as respecting the playing field.Comments were made to me on Saturday about the speed in which cars have entered and exited the oval parking area. We cannot say slow down to each and every driver. Lets put the safety first of each and everyone of us who meets for our matches/training.
Chelsea coaching clinic
We need more Dayboro players!(the original post for this is in E off the post Edition 9) The Development Camps will run from Monday, 6 July until Friday, 10 July and are currently being staged at Albany Creek (from 1-4 pm) or Narangba (2-5 pm), however if we can get 16 players from Dayboro, a clinic will be able to run at our very own ground. At the moment we are well on the way to getting 16 players.The cost of the course is $175 per player, however if we get the numbers we will also get a 10% discount which will mean the cost will be $157.50, so now is the time to act. Under 12 Report - 13th June 2009
Dayboro U12’s vs The Gap – top of the table clash
What a great game, what a great result! The clash between our team (second on the table) and The Gap (top of the table) set the scene for an exciting game. Dayboro came out firing and put pressure on The Gap straight away. Ed got stuck in straight off the whistle with a solid tackle to take the ball away from the opposition and moved the ball forward. By the end of the second minute, Jed took a shot at goal. Another sign of things to come involved Alex and Oliver combining well in their passing to move the ball forward in a one-two sequence.
In the seventh minute, Dayboro scored the first goal. Alex moved the ball forward from the edge of the penalty box. He could have blasted the ball for a speculator shot, but as coach Scott had drilled into the team ‘control’, Alex chose to move forward and ‘with control’, and swept the ball into the goal!
Dayboro did not let up after the first goal. With The Gap rattled, Dayboro kept moving forward. Jake had a strong run, Travis made a long range pass and Kade had a shot at goal. Alex would have scored again in the ninth minute, but was called offside. With all the pressure on The Gap and Dayboro pushing forward, Alex scored again after being fed a good ball from his team mates.
The opposition spectators sensed the Dayboro dominance when one called out, "Two of you tackle him!" In attack or defence Dayboro dominated. More disciplined passing saw Alex, Kade and Olivia moving the ball up the field. Oliver showed tenacity against some of the stronger Gap players by tackling, falling over, getting up again and tackling a second time. Twenty minutes into the game and Dayboro hadn’t eased off. A second call from the sideline could be heard by all, "two of you tackle him" – a desperate spectator! With heightened excitement, Alex further entertained the home crowd with an overhead kick receiving a great cheer from the Dayboro supporters.
Toward the end of the first half, Dayboro let The Gap into the game. The Gap had several pushes forward with shots at goal. Franz did well to keep the ball out of the net. Finally, as Dayboro was anticipating the end of the first half, they were caught off guard by a long range shot from outside the penalty box. The ball rose high and long over the defence and went into the top corner of the Dayboro goal.
Half time gave Coach Scott a chance to reinforce the game plan "move the ball, track the ball". Scott also added some words of encouragement, "Our passing is sweet, we’re tearing them apart, and their goal caught us on breakaway!"
The Gap started the second half well with a shot at goal in the first few minutes; but again Franz was solid in goal. The beginning of the second half also saw more of the ball moving up and down the pitch in a midfield battle. Oliver took a superb shot from out wide with The Gap goalie having to take dive. The goalie was surprised at the shot on target from such a narrow angle. Against the run of plan, The Gap scored again. Another long range shot, Franz at full stretch got a hand to the ball and pushed it wide, but not wide enough. The ball hit the post and went into the goal. The Gap celebrated at levelling the score but Dayboro had a problem. With Franz committing himself to the previous save, he injured his hand and could not keep goal for the rest of the match. Brad, ever the enthusiast, did not hesitate when he was asked to go in goal. This would be a fortunate replacement as Brad was destined to entertain later in the game.
In the tenth minute of the second half, Dayboro would score again. An exceptional goal, Olivia took the ball down the right from halfway, dribbled it deep into the opposition’s half, then crossed the ball with a pin point pass. Kade connected with the ball and slotted in the goal. Dayboro’s intensity was back with passing combinations being one of many highlights of match. Again, Oliver crossed the ball and nearly scored. The Gap took advantage of whatever ball they could get and scored again to level the match.
Even though the game was levelled after 15 minutes into the second half, Dayboro kept dominance over the match. The game continued back and forth with Dayboro continuing to bring the ball out of defence. The strong Dayboro mid-field was dependable with Mathew and India. Jeremy was also strong throughout the match providing good balls to the forwards, or moving it forward himself.
Toward the end of the match, Dayboro had a corner and Coach Scott threw caution to the wind and called Brad up from his goal posting to try for the goal winning header. The ball was crossed in and Brad just missed scoring. As The Gap moved the ball out of defence, Brad sprinted back to his goal at full speed to the cheer of the crowd. This underlined the theme of the game, entertainment plus!
With only minutes to go until the end of the match, Jak had a couple of strong kicks in midfield to keep the ball in the oppositions half. More pressure from Dayboro moved the ball toward The Gap’s goal and fittingly enough, a third goal from Alex - his hat-trick!!
Minutes later the final whistle blew. The Dayboro players jumped around in excitement and the supporters cheered making it one of the best supported games of the year. Well done Coach Scott! Dayboro U12’s are top of the table, knocking off the previous top team – The Gap.

President's Report
What a great start for the games on Saturday at the Colin Thiele Field! Our oval was looking stunning, ready to be played on, with clear blue skies above. Last weeks Presidents Report was sent to the editor a bit late on my behalf and my apologies for the delay. Michael kindly sent a supplemental on my behalf. Thanks Michael.

No Smoking Policy – could all parents please be aware of a nil tolerance policy for those who choose to light up in the areas surrounding the pitch. This can affect all those who are in the same proximity as the smokers. Where they dispose of their cigarette butts is another issue.
Speed Limits – on Saturday I did notice a few vehicles using the area around the parking area a little unsafe. Please take care as we have a considerable number of girls and boys in these areas who are only focused on their friends and playing soccer – not vehicles.

Why I think the U12 team will get in the soccer finals this year (by Matt Simons)
I am a player in the U12 soccer team for Dayboro Dingoes. We are all good players in the positions we are given, and sometimes if we are given a different position, we might be even better at it. No matter what we do, even if we loose, we all have fun!
We are lucky enough to have a coach who is also an actual soccer player. He teaches us his skilful moves and games during our lesson. If we finish early we play a soccer game, usually red verses white, but whichever team has the least players, gets the coach. It is very enjoying to have him and a great opportunity to learn wonderful moves.
Most of us in this team, have been playing for 5-6 years and have had a great experience. Whilst some of us are 11 years old, most of us are 12 - although we are from different schools (most from Dayboro). Even though some of us are little and younger, we never tease any one and if we make a mistake, unlike some other teams who harass there own players, we just say "good try better luck next time".
We do win a lot of our games and have only lost one game so far, but as I said we all enjoy playing. We pass the ball all the way up the field and if we’re in the right place in the right time, we score. Often there are times where we pass but the other team gets it, but we try and stop them and start all over again.
Fortunately, with our training, we have been playing so well that the Dayboro U12 team is in second place on the ladder. We are all thrilled with our current position, although on Saturday 13/6/9 we have to play against the team coming first, The Gap, and we all feel like having fun, the team, the two captains and me, the vice captain.
