This weeks game got off to a slow start for us. Ollie, Alex, India, Jayden and Jed managed to secure the ball on a number of occasions; but Grange managed to score in the first 10 minutes. Grange continued to dominate play, and although Jeremy and Travis intercepted in defence a few times, but Grange scored again.
However, Dayboro picked up their game. Jeremy did some great intercepting, with Eddie and Ollie picking it up and passing to Alex, who ran into the clear with the ball all the way to score a goal! Matt, Travis and Kayde secured the ball and it was Grange under pressure now. Eddie, Alex, Ollie and Jayden kept it up, Jayden headed the ball to Alex, and Alex scored again, with the ball bouncing off the right post into the net!
Jed and Eddie managed another two shots at the goal, both of which were saved. The team really started working together. All the players keeping to their positions and keeping the ball in our possession. Franz collected it and booted it down field; Travis did some great intercepting. India, Eddie, Jayden and Ollie kept the ball, Jayden passed to Alex who once again found a clear field and scored!
India, Jayden, Eddie, Kayde, Alex and Ollie had good control of the ball, and passes were strung together well. Jak and Matt were good in defence.
In the second half, Dayboro kept the ball on the Grange end of the field with some great intercepting from Travis, India and Jeremy, and a couple of tries at goals by Jed and Kayde. However, Grange managed to intercept and score again, bringing the score to 3:3.
The pressure was on in this tight game now, and India intercepted the ball, passed it to Alex to Kayde, back to Alex to Jed, then to Kayde, who booted it right into the goal! Grange took up the challenge and fought back with a strong attempt at our goal, but Franz saved it and the Grange didn’t manage to score again.
It was a tough decision to choose Player of the Match, with so many in the team playing well, but in the end, Scott chose Eddie for being the best for using the 1: 2 move, he’d been teaching them. Well done Dayboro on yet another win!!
