From the onset, Mitchelton made it clear they drove all the way to Dayboro for business. The green jersey did their best to dominate the first half however Dayboro’s tactics kicked in. Just like the comet, Hayley was “on fire”. With the goalie gloves on and the number one on her back she proved a force to be contended with stopping potential goals with ease.
Jack, sporting a new streamline defense haircut along with Tim and Emslie helped turn the game around and the last ten minutes of the first half saw Dayboro hold the ball in their forward lines. Dean and Conor’s quick feet tried hard to set the ball up however the goals remained illusive.
Back into the game for the second half Jacob worked well with the little legs of the under 8’s playing up. Clancy, Sam and Shaun showed their worth and were invaluable on the field working the ball with determination and sweat while providing reserve relief for the team. Dayboro chased the ball to the end however it was Mitchie taking the trophy home.
Congratulations to Hayley, player achievement award well earned.
